HistoryWombat Security
Technologies was founded in June 2008 by Drs. Lorrie Cranor, Jason Hong and
Norman Sadeh, all faculty members at the School of Computer Science at the world-renowned
Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). The founders were all involved in the largest national research project on combating phishing attacks, which was funded by the US Army and
National Science Foundation. The founders were inspired by the strong results from the study and embarked on
a plan to expand on the success of the research, commercialize the technology,
and develop a comprehensive suite of cyber security training software and
filtering technologies, thus creating Wombat Security Technologies, Inc. Our Company
